YOU can help us, become an Advocate for the Nest!

We are working to organize a group of “Robin’s Nest Advocates” who can share their passion for Robin’s Nest with their home church. This is a simple way to make a big impact for the Nest!

Ways that you can help in your church or organization include the following ideas, even doing one is a big help to us:

• Placing our NEW brochures in your church (Just let us know how many you would like.)
• Asking your church if they are willing to have a special Sunday for the Nest. (We have speakers available.)
• Putting Robin’s Nest in your church missionary giving budget (annually, monthly, etc.)
• Posting email updates or newsletters on a missions bulletin board
• Having your Sunday school children “Sponsor a Child” from the Nest
• Sending a Missions team to volunteer at the Nest
• Asking your church to lift up the Nest in prayer
• Creating your own way to raise awareness of the Nest!

Please consider joining this team by emailing Rob Stadler at
stadlerrw@gmail.com  or Paula Merkouris at
salem@alliancecom.net.  This saves us printing and mailing costs as well as time.

A Robins Nest Gift Idea

Would you like to honor someone on a special day or give a gift in memory of someone?  Please consider giving a donation to Robin's Nest in their name.  These can also be put towards the matching funds talked about on the front page and give them twice as much honor. These will be listed on our website (not the giver, just those honored.) We can also send them a card telling them what you are doing.  Just list their address when you send in the gifting form.

(Click here for the gifting form, or email Paula at salem@alliancecom.net with questions.)

SPONSOR  A  CHILD FROM THE "NEST"

In 2006, we began a new program, “Sponsor a child.”  We are so grateful to the many of you who have faithfully given to this program which helps us to provide board and room for our children.   For only 50 cents a day or $20 a month, you can help the children of Robin’s Nest.  If you desire to be a part of this program or want more information, please fill in the area concerning it on the gift form (click here for the sponsor form).  We are so grateful to have Cindy Anderson now handling the sponsor a child program, so please contact her at canderson12@marykay.com.

Please note:  We would like to do this program primarily by e-mail and automatic deduction.
However, if you are unable to do this, please do not hesitate to sign up.

To Be Of Service To Robin's Nest

EMAIL UPDATES AVAILABLE

Since Robin's Nest is run by an all volunteer board here in the states, it is very hard to get newsletters out more than quarterly and sometimes we even fall behind in that.  We now have a way to update you more often by email as to when the web site changes or there are prayer requests or updates on the "Nest."  If you would like to be part of this, it does save us money and time, please email Paula at salem@alliancecom.net and she will add your name to our email list.

ROBIN'S NEST T-SHIRTS AVAILABLE

T-shirts in green or yellow (Jamaica's colors) with Robin's Nest, Jamaica written on them and a picture of a Robin in a nest with her little ones are available from Paula Merkouris, board member. These are a great way for you to help us promote Robin's Nest. It might be good to email us for a few extra brochures with your order to hand out when asked. Share your passion for orphans with others by wearing a t-shirt.
They need to be pre-ordered at
salem@alliancecom.net. There is a suggested donation of $15 for children and adult sizes plus shipping. Please contact Paula if you would like to order one. Click photos to see t'shirts modeled by our Special Ed teacher.

ATTENTION TEAMS
INTERESTED IN SERVING

Please follow this procedure when inquiring about serving at the Nest:

  • Contact Paula @  robinsnestja@gmail.com or 605-582-7019..  She will forward a trip packet to you for your response.
  • Paula will inform Jody Rieck, US Trip Director, and Matt Wiley, Trip Director at the Nest, of your interest.  You will be contacted to discuss if your dates of interest are open on the team calendar.
  • As described in the trip packet, a “per person” deposit is necessary to hold your space on the team calendar; team calendar dates are first come first serve, so getting deposits in ASAP is necessary to guarantee your team’s service dates.  All deposits and final payments should be mailed to Jody's address in Andover as specified in the trip packet.
  • Jody can refer you to a board member who can help you with airfare and/or lodging if needed.

A Robins Nest Gift Idea

Instead of buying gifts for friends and family this year, consider giving a donation to Robin's Nest in their name. You can also honor someone who is special to you or give a gift in memory of someone. Father's Day is coming up and it would be a great way to honor your father. These can also be put towards the matching funds talked about on the front page and give them twice as much honor. These will be listed on our website (not the giver, just those honored.) We can also send them a card telling them what you are doing.

(Click here for the gifting form, or email Paula at salem@alliancecom.net with questions.)
