Many thanks to those who attended our annual banquet, supported the
silent auction,
became sponsors, and helped us meet the banquet challenge with your
gifts.
It was a wonderful night together.

their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the

During this Holiday season, I would just like to simply
say, “thank you.” There are no words adequate to express my
appreciation to everyone who has been involved in one way or
another in Robin’s Nest Children’s Home. May God bless you
for your part in taking care of the orphans of Jamaica.
We are all chosen like the body of Christ with each and
every one of you playing a vital role in the ministry.
Whether you have been to the Nest, supported us financially,
sponsored a child, prayed for us, served on the board, had
me speak at your church or organization, or given in other
ways; you are appreciated. Even though I have stepped down
as full-time director of the home in Jamaica, I have been
busy speaking to churches and organizations about the
mission of Robin’s Nest over the last 11 years and also, for
the years to come. God has given me complete peace in all
of this. I hope that you will contact us if you would like
me to come to your area and speak in 2009. I will be in the
Pennsylvania/New York area in January. Please keep up to
date as to what is happening on our website.
Have a blessed Christmas!

Merry
Christmas from Robin's Nest:
Blessings! We are getting ready for Christmas and enjoying the
cooler weather and breeze on the top of our mountain. It is a
blessing to see all of the progress that has been made at our
house this year. As many know we have eight rooms completed in
Jake's House (our new boy's dorm) and only four more that we
pray will be built next year as God supplies the funds. We have
8 boys living there with Andy and I, and our Special Education
Teacher Dana. She has been an incredible blessing and has four
of our boys with varying disabilities who are making great
strides in her class. All of our children are now on Christmas
break from school, although we are doing extra work at home with
all of them to ensure that those who need the extra help get as
much attention as they need. We have been able to plant most of
our garden which was recently quadrupled in size. We will also
be given 30 banana trees this week, and are blessed by the fruit
they will bear. The next project we hope to tackle is beginning
a chicken coop allowing our children to gain more practical
skills, and also become more self-sufficient. We pray that
these projects will decrease our overall spending once they
begin to produce. We are making constant repairs to both of our
vehicles, but continue to pray for God's timing in providing the
opportunity to purchase new vehicles. Despite all of the visual
and logistic improvements that have been made to our property,
those that truly reveal God's involvement are those changes seen
in the eyes of our children. We have many new children this
year, and even in the few months that we have been here our
children continue to improve. We cannot thank you enough for
the prayers and support that you have provided for the ministry
of Robin's Nest. You have been an incredible blessing to each
of our children, and the improvements they make are incredible
to witness. We continually thank God for allowing each of us to
be involved in His heart and ministry to these children.
Our children have been very blessed this year. They were able
to attend a Christmas party in Kingston several weeks ago with
all children's homes on the island. Ian took part in a
wheelchair race (with Andy pushing) and took first place in the
race! He was then presented with a medal by Usain Bolt, the
Jamaican Olympian that won several gold medals in Beijing!! Ian
refused to take off his medal that night, and proudly slept with
it around his neck! All of the children had a wonderful day.
We are looking forward to Christmas as there is a missionary and
his family visiting us who will do a Christmas service for our
children and staff. They are also bringing a large projection
screen to show a children's version of the Jesus film on our
lawn. We are looking forward to this as we have many older
children who have not spent the holidays with us before. Please
continue to pray for each of our children, especially those who
are nearing adoption, others who have returned to their
families, and those with ongoing health concerns.
Praise God for all that He has done, and for the birth of His
Son!
Andy and Laura Chapeau, Interim Directors
